Ask your Travel Advisor
I have some time off and am planning to take a vacation, but I just don’t know where to go! There are so many options it’s overwhelming. Is it best if I have a destination (or a few) in mind before I meet with an advisor?
Not at all! We have plenty of people who meet with us and don’t have a clear idea of where they want to go. That’s where we come in! We specialize in knowing these destinations and matching them to our clients. We can help you select the destination that best fits what you’re looking for – whether that’s a family trip, a couple’s getaway, or even a solo journey! Oftentimes, we even see clients who think they have an idea of where they want to go, but after talking to us they realize that the destination they had in mind doesn’t really match up with what they were hoping for out of the trip. That’s why we like to take the time to have an initial consultation and really get to know you, your interests and hobbies, so that we can better suggest destinations.
Ask your Travel Advisor – Do you have any helpful tips for choosing a destination?
When we work with clients to choose a destination, we think it is very important to factor in the weather, accessibility, and activities available in that destination. A client may really want to take a trip to India, but if their vacation time happens to be in August then we may tell them to hold off and visit India on their next trip because August is monsoon season in India – not the ideal time to visit. The accessibility of a destination is also an important factor because some clients don’t have the time (or interest) to spend two or three days on multiple connecting flights to get to their destination. Lastly, we always take into account our client’s interests and hobbies and make sure that the destination offers activities that will match these interests. The best tip we can offer for choosing a destination is to develop a relationship with your trusted travel advisor! The more they get to know you, the more they can suggest trips and tailor them to your particular interests. When we develop these deeper relationships with our clients, we are able to start a list of trips that we know you want to take, and then we can work with you to map out a travel plan for the next year or two!
Ask your Travel Advisor- What are some of the must-take trips you suggest for your clients?
Heritage Trip: We absolutely love when clients come in wanting to plan a trip around their ancestry. From visiting where their grandparents grew up to where their parents met to meeting long-lost cousins, it’s an incredible experience that really gives travelers a better sense of self.
Detox Trip: The most common type of detox trip is visiting a spa or wellness resort, but we also love the idea of a digital detox. Whether you combine this with a traditional detox trip or decide to travel to a more remote destination (with little or no Wi-Fi access), it is a fantastic way to relax and de-stress. With technology so readily available to us, there is a constant pull to check our emails, respond to texts, or do some work if we have even just a spare minute or two. A detox trip allows our clients to slow down and appreciate the little things in life while they take the time to reconnect with themselves and their family.
Bucket-List Trip: This will be different for everyone, but we love the idea of putting together a list of “bucket list” trips that you hope to take in your lifetime. Come up with ideas on your own or work with your advisor to create this list. Then, start planning! Bucket list trips tend to be some of the most memorable and enjoyable trips our clients go on because it really is their dream come true. Don’t just dream it, let us help you actually take that trip!
