If you are currently selling upscale travel and are interested in joining the West University Travel advisor team of independent contractors, we’d love to hear from you. Our advisors typically have 50-100 affluent client households, for which they arrange travel multiple times per year.

For travel advisors who are new or fairly new to selling travel but are very well travelled and knowledgeable, West University Travel can provide training to transition the translation of personal experience to customer sales and satisfaction. For veteran travel advisors who are looking to add to their client roster, West University Travel can qualify you for the lead generation program - another additional benefit of being a part of the West University Travel team and the Virtuoso network.

Independent Travel Advisor

Position is that of an Independent Affiliate of West University Travel, working either within our office or as a home-based travel advisor. You will be completely responsible for managing the leisure travel requests of your own client base, while providing exceptional customer service. As an affiliate, you will be provided with agency support services for an agreed upon contract term, giving you all of the tools that you need to succeed!

While experience within the leisure travel industry is preferred, we are willing to provide training to someone with extensive personal travel experience and the right attitude!

Job Responsibilities:
-Provide full service leisure travel assistance to clients, including booking air, hotels, cruises, tours, sightseeing, and transportation
-Use preferred partner relationships to obtain the best rates, benefits, and service for clients
-Check availability and process bookings in a timely matter
-Email, fax, and telephone requests and confirmations
-Research destinations and suppliers to best meet clients’ needs and expectations, including attending in-office meetings with suppliers, participating in webinars, reading industry publications, etc.
-Process final documentation, which may include itineraries, visas, air tickets, and payments

Experience and Skills Desired:
-Significant personal travel experience or time lived abroad
-Preferred previous luxury travel sales experience with an understanding of the industry
-Preferred experience with Sabre and ClientBase systems
-Expert knowledge of international destinations, cruising, and adventure travel
-Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
-Strong organizational skills required to maintain accurate records and client correspondence
-Ability to learn quickly and keep up in fast-paced environment
-Self-motivated and able to work independently
-Proficient computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
